So you want to learn to play the guitar? You dream of being able to strum your favorite songs. You watch in awe and envy as others seem to be able to play so effortlessly. You ask yourself, "Why can't I do that?"

Well if you are reading this, you can. And not just because of some fancy blog post. But I am telling you that I have seen all sorts of beginners succeed at this instrument. Here are 3 tricks to help you see to it that you join the club of guitar players, worldwide.

1.) Get in and stay in.

100% of the people who succeed at the guitar don't give up. They keep on strumming even if their fingers hurt. They keep coming to GUITAR LESSONS even if they had a bad week. They understand that it is a long-term relationship. Not a sprint. At the same token, 100% of those fail end up quitting the early phases or they never try at all. Let us encourage you and keep you accountable with GUITAR LESSONS right here in LITTLETON!

2.) Keep realistic expectations.

Many people who take guitar lessons see others on television playing flashy things and want to do the same thing. Who can blame you? Just remember - flashy comes with repetition. The more you repeat the right things, the better you get! The better you get, the more fun you will have! Just don't set it down if you find yourself playing basic songs to begin with. Keep those expectations real and enjoy the ride.

3.) Listen for songs you love.

There is not ONE way to learn the guitar. That's why there are thousands of opinions online. What you need is a great guitar teacher to help you find out what YOU want to play. If you have song titles in front of you that excite you, you will get better on the guitar. It's always true! Not sure what songs to learn? Start listening for them. Imagine yourself playing them as you listen to the radio or your favorite playlists. Write them down. The more you listen for them, the more you will realize you can do it, too.
