Make This Summer a Musical One!
As summer approaches and school winds down, it is easy for kids to drift toward screens for entertainment. While a little downtime is perfectly fine and often well deserved, we encourage parents to help their children find a healthy balance, especially by setting aside time each day to practice music. Regular music practice not only builds skill, but also strengthens confidence, discipline, and focus. These qualities benefit children far beyond music itself. Practicing consistently keeps young minds engaged and provides structure during long summer days. Whether it is ten focused minutes or a full session, consistency makes a real difference. Summer break offers a great opportunity to make steady progress without the usual school-year pressures. Music is a lifelong gift, one that brings joy, expression, and creativity far beyond any score on a tablet or video game. Let us work together to keep the music playing, growing, and inspiring all summer long!

Music Tip of the Month: Pianists
Summer can make it tough to stay inside and practice, especially with all the fun outdoor activities calling your name! But don’t let your momentum slip away. If you can, take your keyboard outside to enjoy the fresh air while playing. If that’s not an option, set up your piano near an open window to soak in some sunshine. Keeping your fingers moving daily—even for short sessions—will help you stay in rhythm and maintain progress through the summer months.
